Dance Recitals
Showtime
A standard dance recital will be taped using one stationary camera. It will be placed in the rear/center of the auditorium. An area around the equipment will be blocked off so no one can get to the camera or other equipment. I will attend a dress rehearsal, to see the different types of dances, the layout of the area, lighting and other items that may effect the video.
Whether you have one or two shows or a whole weekend with five or six shows, I will treat each one the same. I will arrive at the location about an hour before to set up. In the case where you have multiple shows on the same day, I will leave the equipment set up between each show providing it will be safe.
The video is a display of the recital, as the audience sees it. I focus on the class as a whole, ensuring shots of formations and routines. I will zoom in and pan across the stage to get a closer view of smaller groups, at least once per number. If for any reason there is some sort of mishap during the show, say the wrong song is started then the correct one is played, I will go in and edit that out of the final video. So when you watch it years later you'll never know there was any problem at all.
Final Product
Master DVD
The Master DVD is broken up into different chapters, based on the different numbers in a show. A title and end credit are added to the final video, including "act 1" and so on. Custom labels and menus are created for the DVD and case. You will need one master for ever show that you have. So if you have five shows in a weekend, then you will need five master DVD's. From the master all the copies will be made. I will also keep a copy of the master if you ever need a copy made other then the time of ordering.
Sale & Distribution
It is the studios responsibiblty to take the orders and charge the customers thier retail cost. You may take the orders in advace, at the time of the show, or both.
After I receive a list with the amounts for each show, I can then start making the duplicates. It will take about two months depending on how many DVD's you order. When I have all the DVD's I will bring them to your studio where you can distribute them.
The DVD's are created bulk. In case of a bad disc, let me know what show you need, and I'll get you a new copy. There is no charge for replaced a DVD.
Online Video
One new feature that will be coming soon is hosting the videos online. This gives anybody the ability to view any recital right from their computer using a high-speed internet connection. The video can also be downloaded to their computer or an iPod. The quality is good, but not equal to the final DVD and it does not include any menus or chapter points. PalmTech Multimedia will provide these videos online for a very reduced price.
Go to the "Online Videos" section to see how they will be listed when they are for sale.
